Mandatory Age Verification

Certain regions in the United States and the United Kingdom have enacted or are in the process of enacting age verification requirements for visitors to adult websites. To comply with these regulations, we use Yoti, a secure third-party age verification service that ensures our members are over 18 years old. Please be assured that the law prohibits both the website and the third party performing the verification from retaining any identifying information once the process is complete.

 

Optional Age Verification

All members can also voluntarily verify their age through Yoti and receive a “verified” badge (blue checkmark) on their profile to show members that they’ve gone through the age verification process. In addition, gold members will receive a 3-day extension while standard members will earn 100 points.

Desktop users will see a light blue banner on their home page to verify their age while mobile users can find this banner by tapping on the icon with three lines in the bottom right corner of the navigation bar.

 

What is Yoti and how does it work?

Yoti is a company that utilizes advanced age verification technology to estimate a person’s age. The process is simple: users need to look into the camera or webcam, similar to taking a selfie. Yoti’s system employs AI and facial recognition technology to estimate the user’s age based on the selfie. This is achieved using machine learning models trained on a diverse dataset of faces to accurately predict age.

Here are a few key points about Yoti:

• Only a selfie image is required. You do not need an ID to complete verification.
• You cannot use a pre-existing photo in place of a live selfie.
• Yoti does not store any user information and will delete the selfie image once the live verification is complete.

Follow the instructions below when you are prompted to verify your age. You will be given two options to verify your age: either through “Age Estimation” (recommended) or “ID Verification.” Note that ID Verification is not required, and selecting “Age Estimation” will be adequate for verifying your age.

 

Tips for Successfully Completing Your Verification

We recommend trying the tips below to improve your success rate with using Yoti:

• Grant Camera Permission: Ensure Yoti has permission to access your camera.
• Optimize Lighting: Use a well-lit area with a light source in front of you, not behind. If there’s backlighting, such as a window in the background, position the camera so the light source is in front.
• Clean Your Camera Lens: A clean lens can significantly improve image clarity.
• Remove Headgear: Take off hats, headbands, or other items that could obstruct your face.
• Proper Alignment: Position your face and/or ID correctly within the designated area on the screen.
• Stay Still: Avoid sudden movements and remain as still as possible during the verification process.
• Update Your Browser: Upgrade to the latest version of mainstream browsers like Edge, Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. Non-mainstream browsers (e.g., DuckDuckGo or Samsung Browser) often perform poorly with Yoti.
• Use Firefox browser: Firefox is particularly user-friendly, as it prompts you to choose which camera Yoti can access.
• Try Both Methods: Try both „Age estimation“ and „ID verification“ options if one doesn’t work.

 

Instructions for Age Estimation (recommended)

Age Estimation for Mobile devices:

1. When prompted, tap the „Verify you’re 18+“ button.
2. On the next screen tap the „Age estimation“ button.
3. Tap „Continue“ on the next screen.
4. Check both boxes to give your consent for Yoti to use an image of your face to estimate your age then tap „Continue“.
5. Accept the prompt to allow Yoti to use your camera.
6. Using your mobile camera, align your face within the green area. Hold very still to avoid verification failure.
7. The next screen will display „Estimating age“.
8. The final screen will show that the tasks of „Estimating age“ and „Deleting scan“ have been completed. You will be redirected to the site upon successful completion.

 

Age Estimation for Desktop PC’s:

1. When prompted, click the „Verify you’re 18+“ button.
2. On the next screen click the “Continue” button under „Age estimation”.
3. Check both boxes to give your consent for Yoti to use an image of your face to estimate your age then click „Continue“.
4. Accept the prompt to allow Yoti to use your webcam.
5. Using your webcam, align your face within the green area. Hold very still to avoid verification failure.
6. The next screen will display „Estimating age“.
7. The final screen will show that the tasks of „Estimating age“ and „Deleting scan“ have been completed. You will be redirected to the site upon successful completion.

Instructions ID Verification (optional):

Yoti also offers verification using an ID, which is optional. If this option is selected, you will still need to scan your face, similar to the age estimation process outlined above.

 

ID Verification for Mobile devices:

1. When prompted, tap the „Verify you’re 18+“ button.
2. On the next screen tap the „ID Verification“ button.
3. On the next screen, tap on “Continue”
4. On the next screen, tap on “Get Started”
5. You will be prompted to select the issuing country on the next screen. Select the appropriate country in the drop down menu.
6. After selecting your country, you will be prompted to select the type of ID documentation you are uploading. Select the appropriate option from the drop down menu then tap “Continue”.
7. The next screen will present you with two options. You can either upload an image by tapping on “Upload by file” or select “Take photo”. Note: If you select the option to take a photo of your ID you must allow permission to use your camera.
8. Depending on the option you selected you will be prompted to upload an image file or take a picture of the front and back of your ID. Follow the prompts then tap “Continue”.
9. Check both boxes on the next screen to give your consent for Yoti to use your data to verify your age then tap “Continue”.
10. Tap “Continue again on the next screen to take a scan of your face.
11. Accept the prompt to allow Yoti to use your camera.
12. Using your mobile camera, align your face within the green area. Hold very still to avoid verification failure.
13. The next screen will display „Estimating age“.
14. The final screen will show that the tasks of „Estimating age“ and „Deleting scan“ have been completed. You will be redirected to the site upon successful completion.

 

ID Verification for Desktop PC’s:
